- From the Procurement view plant can be defined as the location which holds the valuated stock
- From the Production view plant can be defined as central organizational unit where production planning takes place
- From the maintenance view plant can be defined as the location that contains service or maintenance facilities
Prerequisite for the plant configuration
- Country Key
- Region Key
- Factory Calendar

In SAP standard deliver system all the countries are defined according to the international ISO standard


Region Key

Define New region according the requirements and enter the key and Description of the region and assign to the country

Factory Calendar
T-code : SCAL

1) Maintain the Public holidays
2) Assign the Public holidays to Holiday calendar
3) And Create the factory calendar as per the requirement .
4) Assign the Holiday calendar ID to the factory calendar

Define Plant
A Plant is defined by unique four character alphanumeric key .
- Enter the Name ,Language Key,Street ,Postal Code ,City ,Country & Region key
- Enter the factory calendar setting which is configured for the Plant

Copy,Delete, Check Plant
We can also copy plant from the existing plant defined in the system


Note: Since the key of a plant in unique in a client and plant can only belong to one company code
